A Reading Party II, s’est déroulée au Sonic à Lyon dans le cadre de l’exposition Anne Turyn: New York City in 1979/1981 organisé par Sophie T. Lvoff à La Salle de Bains. Blagues, chansons et histoires sont partagées dans un moment spécial de boîte de nuit qui ramène le public en 1981 au son de voix contemporaines sur un accompagnement sonore d’Elia David.

TOP STORIES était un périodique de prose publié de 1978 à 1991 par l’artiste Anne Turyn à Buffalo, New York, et à New York City. Au cours de ses vingt-neuf numéros, il a servi de plateforme à la fiction et à l’art expérimental, par le biais de parutions Top Stories mettait principalement en vedette des artistes femmes, bien que, selon Turyn, quelques hommes “s’y soient glissés comme collaborateurs”.
Bien qu’il s’agisse avant tout d’un “périodique en prose” (comme l’indique souvent sa signature), les numéros variaient en termes de forme et d’esthétique, repoussant les limites de ce que la prose pouvait être et, de temps à autre, échappant complètement au genre. En fait, les seuls paramètres exigés des participants étaient que le logo et la liste des numéros du périodique figurent respectivement sur les couvertures avant et arrière.

The Space Lady
Transcendentally beautiful, The Space Lady’s music is returning to Earth. Transmitting messages of peace and harmony, The Space Lady began her odyssey on the streets of Boston in the late 70s, then San Francisco ten years later, playing versions of contemporary pop music with an accordion and dressed flamboyantly. Following the theft and destruction of her accordion, The Space Lady invested in a then-new Casio keyboard, complete with a phase shifter and headset mic, birthing an otherwordly new dimension to popular song that has captured the imaginations of the underground and its leading exponents ever since.

Puck Fair is one of the oldest fairs in Ireland, dating back some 400 years, although no one is certain of when it originally began. A mountain goat is recruited in the wild weeks before the festival to become King. A young girl writes an essay to become the Queen. The goat is brought down from the hills into the town with a parade and the young girl makes a speech, and then they are crowned King and Queen. They are the royal couple of the town for three days and celebration ensues.
In August of 2017 I journeyed to the small town on the West coast of Ireland called Killorglin, in County Kerry (population 2100) because I had been hearing about the annual local festival for years thanks to two very close people in my life: Jane Cassidy & Conor McBride.
I interviewed this year’s Queen for *Duuu radio, Caitlin Horgan.
